ZVEI membership

The ZVEI has a membership of around 1600 companies. These firms account for over 90 per cent of sales and employ about 90 per cent of the total workforce.

Membership in the ZVEI is voluntary. Any enterprise manufacturing electrical engineering products on an industrial scale,  producing software, operating electrical and electronics systems and networks or providing electronic information services is eligible for full membership. Each member can, of course, avail himself of all the services and facilities of the association and its entire organization.

In the electrical and electronics industry, the internationalization of economic relations and the convergence of European markets is well advanced. Firms producing electrical and electronics goods in the European Union are eligible for ‘Euro-membership’, which affords them a large say in our Association’s work. Companies that meet neither the requirements for full nor for Euro-membership can apply for associate ZVEI membership. Applications for Euro-membership and associate membership are subject to approval by the Board on recommendation of the Product Division concerned.

In addition, the ZVEI provides for corporate membership. This allows institutions to join while retaining their legal status.
