IMDS-ZVEI-VdL Agreement
The Divison of Electronic Components and Systems within ZVEI and Assocation of Printed Circuit Board Manufactures (VdL) have jointly developed an efficient concept for the materials declaration of electronic components and printed cirucuit boards (PCB).
The agreement between ZVEI, VdL and the IMDS-Steering Committe on the acceptance of the Flat Bill of Materials in IMDS states that company-specific and thus individual inputs into IMDS are not necessary for:
- Trade Names
- Specific Product Names
- Providing Companies
- Single Passive Components
- Semiconductors, Printed Circuit Boards, etc.
This means the relevant car representatives e.g. VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) and IMDS Steering Committee accept the Umbrella Specification Concept as a reasonable approach.
Standard Basic Materials defined within the IMDS-System:
- IMDS-ID 9042814 - High-End Assembly and
- IMDS-ID 9043161 - Low-End Assembly
We see this agreement as a huge success for the whole supply chain and therefore thank the representatives of automotive industry as well as the company representatives being involved from ZVEI-side very much for their co-operation and committment during the dialogue.
