Low fire-hazard cables improve safety

​With the white paper on low fire hazard cables, the German electrical and electronical industry provides an extensive insight into the main aspects that have to be considered regarding fire protection cables under the new European Construction Products Regulation.

The amended regulation, which comes into effect on 1 July 2016 binding on all EU Member states, defines cables for the first time as a construction product. In addition to explanations on testing methods, suggestions by the electrical industry on how to increase the level of security using low fire hazard cables in buildings can be found in the white paper.
