BDI study: Climate protection offers opportunities

The "Climate Paths for Germany" show the great opportunities climate protection offers for German industry and the location.

The Federation of German Industries (BDI) today published the study "Climate Paths for Germany", in which numerous other associations participated in addition to the ZVEI. A key finding of the study is that the German government's climate target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80 percent by 2050 compared to 1990 is technologically and economically feasible.

The ZVEI supports the ambitious European and German climate protection targets. With its participation in the BDI study, the ZVEI shows on a reliable data basis ways how the major energy transition project can be successfully designed. It becomes clear that climate protection offers opportunities for industry and the location, which are primarily based on the modernization of infrastructures in all sectors. The study also shows that political climate protection targets can only be achieved with industrial technologies.
