Bis 2020 sollen 500 neue Energieeffizienz-Netzwerke initiiert werden.

With the 100th "Energy-Efficiency Network Initiative ", the Federal Government and Economic Organizations will double the number of knowledge platforms within nine months. ZVEI, as a signatory, supports the joint initiative of the Federal Government and the economy to establish and implement around 500 new energy-efficiency networks by 2020. The initiative is part of the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency (NAPE).

An energy-efficiency network is a voluntary association of companies with the objective of increasing energy efficiency within participating companies. For this purpose, the participants will be able to develop individual savings plans which will then be support with appropriate efficiency measures with the assistance of a qualified energy adviser. Based on this, it is possible to formulate a common network goal. During regularly held network meetings, participants can exchange information on energy efficiency issues and profit from joint network activities. An experienced moderator will continue to play an active role regarding the network throughout the entire period.

Thus far, medium-sized to large companies in the manufacturing sector as well as power utility companies have been involved in energy efficiency networks. There, energy audits and management have already introduced measures, which represent a good basis for the network activity. A goal for further activities of the initiative is therefore to make networks attractive even to smaller companies and to expand to areas such as trade and crafts. As of now, most networks have been developed in Bavaria, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

Together with its regional offices, ZVEI, even more strongly than before, is contributing to bringing the issue of energy efficiency to the regions and to popularising it locally. One success of this work is the founding of the LVI-Energy-Efficiency-Network in Baden-Württemberg, which was founded in cooperation with ZVEI.
