Industrie 4.0, 5G and Modular Production: ZVEI sets the standard for Hannover Messe 2018

From 23 to 27 April 2018, everything at Hannover Messe 2018 will revolve around smart industry and energy systems. Whether modular production or 5G, the ZVEI sets standards and shows how the electrical industry is helping to shape the digital future. This also includes the implementation of Industrie 4.0, the development of smart energy systems and, in general, the networking of technologies across industry and market boundaries.

ZVEI programme highlights in the Industrie Forum 4.0

This year's Forum Industrie 4.0 in Hall 8 will once again set the tone for the digitisation of industry at the Hannover Messe. The ZVEI programme highlights include lectures and panel discussions on all aspects of industrial 5G. The ZVEI will be asking itself whether 5G will be a catalyst for Industrie 4.0 and will discuss the opportunities and risks of 5G for industrial use.

There are new product criteria for Industrie 4.0. These cross-manufacturer criteria help users and manufacturers at the same time. They bring transparency and simplify labelling.

At this year's Forum in Hall 8, the association will also be showing what Industrie 4.0 means for electric drives, providing an insight into international standardization work and an outlook on the next steps in reference architecture for Industrie 4.0.

An overview of the ZVEI programme Highlights:

Lecture: Product Criteria Industry 4.0

24. April, 14:30 to 15:00 o'clock

Martin Hankel (Bosch Rexroth) explains which criteria Industrie 4.0 products must meet in 2018. For this purpose, he presents manufacturer-independent criteria and properties with which industrial 4.0 products can be evaluated.

Panel discussion: 5G as a catalyst for Industrie 4.0?

24 April, 15:00 to 16:00 o'clock

The fifth generation of mobile phones continues to accelerate the development in the direction of Industrie 4.0. 5G makes it possible to introduce new system approaches and solutions into factories and use them in addition to or instead of existing systems. The ZVEI discusses opportunities and risks of 5G for industrial use.

Lecture: News from the standardization of the industry 4.0 component

26 April, 12:30 to 13:00 o'clock

Michael Hoffmeister (Festo AG) presents the latest developments around the Industrie 4.0 component. In particular, the "composite component" will be presented, with which relationships between assets can already be modelled during engineering and then made available for further use, for example the analysis of operating data.

Panel discussion: What skills does the industry 4.0 drive have?

26 April, 13:00 to 14:00 o'clock

The ZVEI discusses to what extent manufacturers can work with the reference architecture model Industrie 4.0 (RAMI 4.0), what Industrie 4.0 means for electric drives, how the drive can be mapped in the value chain and which data is required for this.

Lecture: News about the reference architecture model industry 4.0 (RAMI4.0)

26 April, 14:00 to 14:30 o'clock

Martin Hankel (Bosch Rexroth) presents new and extended specifications in RAMI4.0. He also compares RAMI 4.0 models of other Industrie 4.0 initiatives. In particular models from USA, China and France are considered. Hankel also gives an insight into the international standardization work and an outlook on the next steps in the reference architecture for Industrie 4.0.

Panel discussion: Modular production - What is changing in the production world?

25 April 2018, 12:30 to 13:15 o'clock

Modular production changes existing automation paradigms in the process industry. Manufacturers, users and module builders discuss with each other how these changes will affect the process industry.
