Privacy Policy

1. Scope

The following privacy policy applies to the use of the website www.zvei.org. This website is provided by the ZVEI - Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association), Lyoner Strasse 9, 60528 Frankfurt, Germany (hereinafter: "ZVEI").  

The protection and security of your personal data is important to us, especially with regard to complying with privacy and data protection law when collecting, processing and using personal data. The ZVEI therefore complies with the statutory data protection and privacy provisions, in particular the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz - BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz - TMG).

According to Section 3 para. 1 BDSG, personal data are individual details about personal or material circumstances or a particular or identifiable individual. This includes, inter alia, information such as your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number.

2. Automatic data collection and processing by your browser

Like every website, our server automatically and temporarily collects and saves the following information in the server logfiles, which is transmitted by your browser unless you have deactivated this function:

  • IP address of the querying computer,
  • file enquiry by the client,
  • the http response code,
  • the internet site, from which you are visiting us (referrer URL),
  • date and time of access,
  • browser type and version, and
  • operating system used on the querying computer.

A person-specific evaluation of the server logfile is not performed. At no time are we able to attribute this data to specific or identifiable individuals. This data is not merged or combined with other data sources.

3. Collection and processing of voluntarily provided data

Insofar as you provide us with personal data by e-mail (in particular your name, e-mail address or telephone number), this data is used in principle only for the required communication with you in the corresponding matter. There is no further use of the data. The passive use of our service is possible anonymously.

Insofar as you provide us with personal data via our website (surname, forename, E-mail address, address, telephone, fax), this is generally done on a purely voluntary basis. This data is exclusively used to the extent necessary for managing the contractual relationship, for processing your enquiries and orders.

For processing your enquiries, your orders and the use of our services, we sometimes engage subcontractors, who are sent the required data for a specific purpose, for example on the basis of a data processing contract or within the statutorily permitted framework, in order to process this order. If data is collected and/or used by or for partner companies, we expressly advise you of this.

MyZVEI 
If you wish to use the MyZVEI function, you must register and agree to the privacy policy regulations. For this purpose, the user creates a user profile (e-mail and password), but the user can also enter a title and/or his or her full name.

The data will only be used for the following purposes: Login, contact by e-mail and display in the header of the personalized page. Personal filter settings are also saved in the profile: topics, trade associations, keywords.

Newsletter
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time free of charge by clicking on the link in the newsletter.

4. Forwarding to third parties

Insofar as you have provided us with personal data, these shall generally not be forwarded to third parties. Data is only forwarded:

  • In the case of your express consent, which we will request separately in advance and in this case we will log the consent,
  • Within the framework of the a data processing contract in accordance with Section 11 BDSG to service providers engaged within the framework of managing the contractual relationship (cf. No. 3.2),
  • Within the framework of fulfilling legal obligations to authorities entitled to the information, or
  • Insofar as this is statutorily permitted.

5. Cookies and web analytics

The website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files, which are stored locally in your browser's temporary memory. In particular, cookies are used to enable recognition of your internet browser. Cookies are used to control the session and for statistical evaluation. These cookies do not contain any personal data. Insofar as you voluntarily select automatic login to the website, your login details (e-mail address and password) will be saved in an additional cookie on your computer.

Data is collected and stored on this website using technologies from etracker GmbH (www.etracker.com) for marketing and optimization purposes. Profiles can be created from this data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be utilized for this purpose. Cookies are small text files, which are stored locally in the temporary memory of the user's internet browser.

Through our User Journey we offer you an enhanced user experience. Depending on the user's surfing behaviour, an individual selection of further content that may be of interest to him/her is displayed on www.zvei.org. The content proposals are displayed on the website in the section "You may also be interested in". A cookie is set for this purpose as soon as the user enters the site. This cookie does not store any personal data, but generates a random hash value that does not contain any personal information for us. You can delete this cookie at any time using your browser settings.

6. Social Networks

Facebook "Share button"
On our pages the function "share" of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA is integrated. You can recognize the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the "Share" button on our site. An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

The "Share button" allows people to share content with specific friends or groups on Facebook. Alternatively, you can also share them in a private message.

If you activate the plugin by clicking on it, a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server is established via the plugin. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address.
