ZVEI Programme Highlights at the Forum Industrie 4.0

The Digital Twin will be at the centre of the Industrie 4.0 Forum at this year's Hannover Messe. In Hall 8, lectures and panel discussions on the current status of the administration shell will be on the agenda, as well as possible applications. This also includes the ZVEI project "Digital Type Plate".

There are new product criteria for Industrie 4.0. These cross-manufacturer criteria offer users transparency and simplify labelling for manufacturers. The guide will be published in time for the Hanover Fair.

An overview of the ZVEI Programme Highlights:

Dr. Michael Hoffmeister on the current state of the Asset Administration Shell, a manifestation of the digital twin. This is associated with implementation possibilities such as the ZVEI project "Digital Type Plate".

Prof. Dr. Wegener and Dr. Hoffmeister will present the ZVEI project "Digital Type Plate" and the current status of the Asset Administration Shell in introductory lectures. The subsequent panel will focus on how digital twins can generally enable interoperability across company and technology boundaries and which optimisations are possible through the provision of digital documentation.

International standardisation is of great importance for cross-border trade and production. This Panel shall determine the current state and highlight the latest approaches for further international standardisation - in order to point out future paths of research and innovation.

In her lecture Dr. Birgit Boss discusses the current state of the Asset Administration Shell and of eCI@ss. This offers itself as a concept for references to the semantic descriptions of properties. Further extensions for the full use of the Asset Administration Shell are also addressed.

What actually stands behind the term "Industrie 4.0"? This often differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. Therefore, the ZVEI has set up a working group to define manufacturer-independent criteria and properties for the evaluation of Industrie 4.0 products. The finished guideline will be published for the Hannover Messe 2019.

Uniform, manufacturer-independent data provision plays a major role in the implementation of Industrie 4.0. This discussion deals with implementation approaches of Industrie 4.0 that have been developed in ZVEI working groups, e.g. on characteristics, data and functions.

Programme Highlights at ZVEI's main booth

A special press menu in three courses: Swedish food will be accompanied by reports on the trends in 5G, Industrie 4.0 and the opportunities for the digital economy. The 5G-ACIA will kick off the event, followed by the Automation trade association, which will provide information on the latest developments in Industrie 4.0 and the sector economy. Finally, the opportunities compass for the digital economy and new potentials of data-based business models for SMEs will be presented.

New Automation e.V. awards the Leuchtturm Projekt 2019. Every year, the educational initiative awards the prize to a project that stands out for its creativity and technical implementation. This project is also exhibited on site.

ZVEI Programme Highlights at the Forum Automation

This panel deals with the combination of NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA) and Module Type Package (MTP). The aim of NOA is to extend existing automation structures in the process industry. This will enable flexible implementation of industry 4.0 application cases from the Monitoring and Optimization (M+O) area in new and existing plants.
The aim of MTP is to increase the flexibility of production plants by modularizing process technology, mechanical design and automation technology.

ZVEI Programme Highlights at the Forum Digital Energy

Sebastian Weckmann of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA talks about new approaches to network management to ensure a real-time, robust and fail-safe supply network in the factory of the future. The focus is on direct current supply in production.

Professor Holger Borcherding from the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe explains the basics, challenges and results of the project "DC-INDUSTRIE". A total of 26 research partners are working on rethinking energy supply in production.
