Digitalisierung fördert einen Strukturwandel in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Daten sind hierbei als „Rohstoff“ der Digitalwirtschaft essenziell.

Harmonised standards form the backbone of the European single market. They ensure that the requirements of EU directives can be met and provide legal certainty for manufacturers. However, delays in publication are increasingly resulting in a discrepancy between standards and the current state of the art. The result is rising costs, uncertainty, and growing pressure on companies.
The ZVEI is committed to making this system fit for the future. Standardisation continues to strengthen innovation, competitiveness and safety. This requires greater transparency: as well as being officially listed in the EU Official Journal, the current state of the art should also be visible in future. This should not lead to new obligations, but should provide clear guidance for industry, authorities and conformity assessment bodies.
