The fifth Leadership Circle Industrie 4.0 Conference took place in 2020, like so many other events, in a virtual format. This year, the speakers impressively demonstrated how to make the leap from PowerPoint to the factory floor.
On the first day of the conference, the year's work results were presented as usual, and it quickly became clear that Corona 2020 has crippled many things, but certainly not the progress of digitization. The opposite is the case here. The Digital Nameplate, sensor information models in ECLASS, the InterOpera project to promote information model creation, MTP integration in the asset administration shell (AAS), the mapping of the AAS in OPC UA and the Industrial Digital Twin Association as a technology association specifically for the dissemination of the AAS as the digital twin of Industrie 4.0. Too much content to go into exhaustively at this point - and that was just the first day. The second day then took the leap into the factory. Demonstrators such as the AASX Package Explorer and the AASX server, the AAS testbed in Hanover and demonstrators for the digital nameplate and the brand new Industrie 4.0 drive demonstrator were presented to the participants. The implementation of the AAS in real applications was impressively demonstrated.
The virtual format thereby allowed a record number of 270 participants, making the conference another great success. Next year there will be another conference. Then hopefully again with many participants on site for the stimulating break discussions that were missing this year.
You can already make a note of December 7 and 8, 2021 for the sixth ZVEI Leadership Circle Industrie 4.0 Conference. Perhaps by then even partly on site at ZVEI again.
