ZVEI Recommendations on the EU's Digital Fitness Check

A last chance to make the EU's digital framework competitive

Europe is at a crucial turning point. The European Commission's Digital Fitness Check provides a valuable opportunity to review the rapidly evolving digital regulatory landscape, ensuring it strengthens rather than hinders Europe's competitiveness and innovative capacity.

ZVEI supports this initiative. At the same time, we view the Fitness Check as a final opportunity to address the shortcomings of key new legislation, such as the Cyber Resilience Act, the AI Act and the Data Act. Many of these issues were expected to be resolved by Digital Omnibus VII, but current discussions offer little assurance that the necessary corrections will be made.

This is why the Digital Fitness Check is so important right now.
