The study, 'Europe's Semiconductor Business Case', demonstrates the need for Europe to make decisive investments in order to establish a competitive and resilient microelectronics ecosystem. It reveals that the demand for semiconductors in Europe will continue to grow in the long term, and it identifies the key areas in which policymakers and industry should take action. The study thus provides a solid foundation for investment decisions, industrial policy measures and the strategic development of Europe as a business location. It offers a concise overview of demand trends, cost structures, location conditions and concrete recommendations for the European microelectronics sector. Conducted by Strategy&, it was commissioned by a German-Dutch public-private consortium consisting of ZVEI, the Dutch technology industry association FME, and the ministries of economic affairs of Germany and the Netherlands.
