EU Chips Act must make Europe more attractive for investment

In order to avoid supply bottlenecks in the future, it is necessary to significantly build up and expand the semiconductor industry and reduce one-sided dependencies in international competition. Policymakers must rise to this challenge and provide comprehensive funding.

With the European Chips Act, the European Commission has presented a forward-looking, comprehensive package for the semiconductor industry that can sustainably promote the entire semiconductor industry in Europe. However, the European Chips Act must now also be adopted quickly and be designed in such a way that it covers the needs of the customer industry. This includes, among other things, strengthening Europe's competence in all structural dimensions. The ZVEI has formulated further important points together with other associations in an open letter.
