Chips Act 2.0: Europe must act now

The European Chips Act was an important step towards mitigating the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. However, current geopolitical tensions and experience gained from its implementation show that maintaining the status quo is not enough.

Europe needs a long-term strategic framework for its microelectronics industry – with clear goals, more efficient processes and strong international cooperation. This is the only way to ensure technological sovereignty and competitiveness.
